The All New 2022 Audi RS E-tron GT is an electric beast that pumps out 640 horses of PURE ELECTRIC POWER!
The 2022 Audi RS E-tron GT is the most powerful production car that Audi has ever produced, and it’s the first all-electric RS model. Key to its performance are two electric motors: The front motor produces 235 horsepower; the larger rear motor adds another 449 hp. When working together they combine to give an output of 590 hp, 612 pound-feet of torque and quattro all-wheel-drive. The plus is an overboost mode that bumps the output to around 640 hp. This mode comes into play when the launch control function is activated. Remarkably, unlike many such systems, the GT’s launch control can be used up to 10 times before the battery needs a rest and regenerative braking to replenish some of the spent energy.
The 2022 Audi RS E-tron GT runs from 0 to a 100 kph (0-60 mph) in just 3.3 seconds — but final numbers indicate that it will be much closer to 3.0 seconds.
The 2022 Audi RS E-tron GT shares its platform with the Porsche Taycan. The two-motor setup provides all-wheel drive, and the sedan also has four-wheel steering. It rides on three-chamber air springs with multiple available modes that even affect the ride height.
Audi will offer the sedan with optional carbon-fiber ceramic brake discs, but steel rotors will come standard.
We still don’t have a date for the 2022 Audi RS E-tron GT to be available, but we can expect sales in North America to begin in the first half of 2021. Pricing is still TBA.
