If you’ve been waiting on the next A3 refresh in Europe, it’s at the dealers. From mid-September 2026, Audi’s upgraded A3 family — Sportback, Sedan, allstreet, plus the S3 and RS 3 — rolls out with a new panoramic cockpit and a thicker stack of driver assists. This is a Europe story first: the pricing and on-sale dates below are from Audi’s June 23, 2026 press. U.S. 2027 A3 changes are still not fully confirmed.
Panoramic cockpit, not a trim badge
Every upgraded A3 gets a curved dual-screen setup: an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit paired with a 12.8-inch MMI touch display. The dash inlay runs wider, phone charging moves to a driver-biased tray at 25 watts wireless, and the steering wheels pick up a physical scroll wheel in the multifunction buttons. Three wheel designs stay on the menu, including the flat-top-and-bottom S line / S look.
Tech, Tech plus, Tech pro
Assists now land in three packages: Tech, Tech plus, and Tech pro. The headline system is adaptive cruise assist plus — adaptive cruise plus active lane guidance up to 210 km/h on cars with an automatic. On highways it can change lanes when you signal. New for this update: it can brake for a red light, then roll on when the light turns green if you hadn’t fully stopped.
Online “swarm” data can keep the car’s speed closer to the road’s average flow and help hold a lane even when markings go missing. Audi includes that online assist data for three years after delivery; after that it’s a paid extension.
Parking gets more capable too. Four wide-angle cameras feed a 360-degree / 3D view on the MMI. Park assist plus and pro can steer, accelerate, brake, and shift into marked spaces. Pro adds remote parking from the myAudi app — useful when the spot is tighter than your doors. Trained parking memorizes up to five maneuvers over about 50 meters (garage routines included) after you teach it once.
Sportback, Sedan, allstreet — same cabin upgrade
Body choice stays familiar. Sportback and Sedan cover the classic compact brief. The allstreet (here since spring 2024) keeps about three centimeters more ground clearance than the Sportback, a higher seat, and the crossover look. All of them share the new interior and the expanded assist menu.
Powertrains and the S / RS signatures
Gas and diesel power sits at 85 kW (116 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS) for gas and diesel options in the press. The A3 e-hybrid plug-in hybrid offers 150 kW (204 PS) or 200 kW (272 PS) system output, with up to 142 km of combined WLTP electric range and roughly a half-hour DC full charge. Trailer capacity on the e-hybrid is now 1,700 kg — 300 kg more than before.
The S3 is listed at 245 kW (333 PS) with quattro and the torque splitter. Both S3 and RS 3 get their own Singleframe badges and unique digital daytime running light signatures — RS 3 keeps the checkered-flag cue; S3 now has a signature of its own. Base Matrix LED cars can pick from four DRL designs in the MMI (three redesigned for the base model). This upgrade press does not restate RS 3 horsepower, so we leave that off the sheet rather than guess.
Europe pricing — and the U.S. asterisk
Audi says upgraded A3 models reach European dealerships from mid-September 2026. Press starting prices: €31,850 for the A3 Sportback, €45,350 for the Sportback e-hybrid, €57,200 for the S3, and €68,500 for the RS 3. Those are Europe figures — taxes and market packs will move the window sticker.
For the U.S., MotorTrend’s 2027 Audi lineup note covers the same global cockpit and assist story (11.9 / 12.8 displays, trained parking, remote park, new DRL signatures) but is clear that Audi has not confirmed which A3 changes reach U.S.-market 2027 models. Treat that as open until Audi USA publishes equipment.
