New Q7 Deliveries Start This Month

Audi’s third-generation Q7 starts reaching customers this month. Orders opened in Germany in June. The factory in Bratislava has been building this model since 2005, and the new one follows the same path.

It is still a large family SUV, just a more upright one. Five seats are standard. A six-seat layout (two individual second-row chairs plus a third row) and the usual seven-seater are options, and every seat is electrically adjustable. The five-seater holds up to 806 liters behind the second row, or 2,075 liters with that row folded. The seven-seater is 722 / 1,980 liters.

Launch power is diesel only: a 3.0-liter V6 TDI in 180 kW (245 PS) and 500 Nm, or 220 kW (299 PS) and 630 Nm. Both use MHEV plus, with a powertrain generator that can add up to 18 kW (24 PS) and an electric compressor that Audi says spins to 90,000 rpm in 250 milliseconds. Quattro is standard, with a new limited-slip center differential. Steel springs are standard; adaptive air suspension and a sport air setup that sits 30 mm lower are optional. HVO fuel is approved. An SQ7 has not been confirmed.

Germany pricing starts at €87,900 for the 180 kW car and €90,500 for the 220 kW. Lighting is a big part of the brief: optional digital Matrix LED headlights, third-generation digital OLED rear lights, and a projected turn signal on the ground at night. Adaptive driving assistant plus is on the list, along with trained parking and reverse assist. The optional panoramic roof can switch from clear to opaque in nine segments; Audi notes that feature is not ready at the start of presale.
